half moon bay dress & romper


This last week I had a hankering to sew something new. I think all these grading of old patterns is making my creativity feel like it is suffocating. Too much math, too little creating. I had been kicking around this idea in my head for a while, a romper pattern that could easily be turned into a dress. I knew I wanted it geometric inspired, hence the half moon waistline and high low dress bottom, but that was about it. I just sort of started cutting and sewing fabric and this is what came out of it:

r is for rouge

I am so excited to be participating in Katy, of No Big Dill, Sew All 26. I was lucky enough to bag the letter “R”. I knew I wanted to sew something “rouge” with it being so close to Valentines day. Plus I thought a red dress would look fabulous on Evie. I have also been wanting to try my hand at a lace overlay dress for over a year and this gave me the opportunity.
